Police Called After Showdown Between Boebert and Ex-Husband
Boebert’s Ex-husband Calls Police After Fight with Congresswoman
Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has been at the center of controversy over the past couple of weeks, and it reached a boiling point this week when her ex-husband called the police following a fight with the congresswoman.
The incident happened late Monday evening when the Republican congresswoman’s estranged husband, Max Mishkin, was reportedly involved in an altercation with Boebert at a restaurant in Colorado Springs. Police arrived at the scene shortly after the fight to investigate the matter but did not make any arrests.
According to Mishkin, the altercation started when Boebert attempted to take his phone away from him. The altercation got physical at one point when Boebert allegedly tried to grab the phone from Mishkin and “shove it down his throat.” Mishkin then called the police and filed a report alleging assault. Boebert also filed a report but said she was only defending herself from being attacked.
The incident has prompted much backlash from Boebert’s constituents and fellow members of Congress. Some have called for Boebert’s resignation from Congress, arguing that she does not represent the values of the people of Colorado.
This is not the first time that Boebert has been involved in a controversial incident. In April, she had a highly publicized dispute with the U.S. Capitol Police following her refusal to go through standard security protocols when entering the Capitol Building.
At this point, it is unclear what the outcome of this most recent incident will be. However, the situation has raised serious questions about Boebert’s judgement and whether she is fit to serve in Congress.
