Vendetta Games’ flagship game, Chalk River Metaverse, blends the wild-west, open-world combat genre with NFTs and web3. Users made the first alpha tests available for the public earlier last year, but the game has come a long way since then. While we wait for its upcoming token generation event, there are plenty of things to be impressed by, such as the last NFT drop and the upcoming TGE. Year in Review for Vendetta Games

In November last year, Vendetta Games released its NFT collection “Frontier Pass,” which minted out in seconds after the First come First serve round opened. The collection comprised 888 beautifully crafted passes, 777 publicly released and free-to-mint NFTs, and a $40,000 prize pool in Vendetta Games VDT tokens. The collection was released in three phases: guaranteed whitelist spots, first come first serve, and public rounds. The collection hit over 100 ETH in trading volume before minting out and soon reached over 220 ETH in the first 36 hours post-drop. After days of trending on OpenSea, the collection now sits at over 550 ETH in trading volume. Holders of the ‘Frontier Pass’ collection are promised to have early and exclusive access to Vendetta Games’ Chalk River metaverse. Holders are also eligible for Vendetta Games’ major token airdrop later this year, loads of in-game stuff to level up gunslinging, horse riding and looting towns, and a front-row seat at future NFT collections.

Vendetta Games: Deep Dive

Vendetta Games’ Chalk River metaverse is a wild-west-themed open-world game with a narrative inspired by acclaimed titles like the Red Dead Redemption series, complemented by various engaging mini-games. Chalk River released its early alpha version exclusively to the Vendetta Games community earlier last year and is slated for a full launch later this year. The early alpha build attracted more than 2,000 early-game participants. While the early alpha test is closed, holders of Frontier Pass collections can access the upcoming playtests and fully experience the most recent build. Players can challenge their friends or opponents to one-to-one old-school gunslinging shootouts or loot neighbouring towns. While it’s easy to jump into, as the gameplay focuses on looting and shooting, the game strategy is relatively intricate. Whilst the game offers shooter bursts of PVP action, it is also filled with a rich storyline and quests for players to explore, whether they want to rob banks, race through the canyons, rescue local townsfolk, mine for gold or manage businesses and farms – the options are endless. Vendetta Games allows players to earn their native cryptocurrency token VDT, in-game currency ‘gold-dust’, or several in-game NFTs through gamified staking, the completion of storylines and chapters or by completing objectives in-game. It also hosts seven wild-west-themed side-games within Chalk River, some of which include wager-based multiplayer shootouts, casinos with VDT rewards and more.

How to Play Chalk River?

According to the official website, the playtest will be open to Frontier Pass NFT  holders, as users will get an early peek of the Chalk River metaverse. While the exact date remains unannounced, the playtest is set to be released in Q1 of 2024, shortly after its Vendetta Games upcoming token-generation event. The game will be available for both Mac OS and Windows users, with mobile versions due to be released later this year. All PC users with at least Intel-i5 processors and 8GB RAM can play Chalk River, while users on Mac with OS higher than 11.0 can easily access the game.

What to expect going forward?

The Vendetta token (VDT) is the core driver of the Vendetta and the Chalk River ecosystem, serving as both in-game currency and a key utility asset for holders. According to the official whitepaper, the token operates within the game through staking pools, reward payouts to scholars, and circular economic models, ensuring its growth while serving as the central in-game currency. For gamers, it serves as the primary currency in-game and facilitates commerce within the ecosystem, enabling seamless transactions and trade within the game environment. For investors, on the other hand, it acts as a continuous revenue stream for various segments of the ecosystem, including Vendetta Games and the Chalk River metaverse, offering investment opportunities and promoting ecosystem sustainability. The company recently announced the first of its many initial DEX offerings (IDO) with cryptocurrency launchpad BullPerks for Q1 2024. While the token listing date has yet to be confirmed, Vendetta aims to launch its token through IDO, followed by a centralised exchange listing in the coming months. Overall, as an early example of a robust web3 game, Vendetta Games’ Chalk River shows much promise and even more potential, given the recent rise of the crypto market.
