“Tesla Recalls 120,000 Vehicles: Don’t Wait Until it’s Too Late – Your Doors are at Risk

Tesla, the leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has issued a recall for approximately 120,000 vehicles over a potentially faulty door latch. The affected vehicles fall in the 2014 Model S and 2016 Model X ranges. According to the official announcement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles may have water infiltration, which could lead to the door opening during an accident. This poses a serious risk for passengers both inside and outside of the car. The NHTSA recall document states that the latch lever may become corroded if the vehicle has been exposed to prolonged and excessive moisture. This corrosion, in turn, makes it difficult to open the door from the outside and could result in the unlatching of the door in a crash. Tesla says it will begin contacting owners of the affected vehicles in mid-July, and dealers will replace the hardware free of charge. In other words, if you own a Tesla Model S or Model X, it’s time to pay attention to the recall. Tesla has had a string of recalls in the past year, including the recall of 123,000 cars in June due to an issue with the battery that caused potential fire hazard. But this is the first time that the company has had to recall a large number of cars due to a structural issue. Although no injuries or deaths have been reported as a result of this issue, it is a stark reminder that Tesla is still a relatively young company and that safety is always at the forefront. It remains to be seen what other safety issues may arise as time passes and technology becomes more advanced. The recall is a testament to Tesla’s commitment to ensure the safety of its drivers and passengers, an essential tenet of any car company’s mission statement. It’s a sign that Tesla is striving to get better with each and every product and is serious about delivering the highest quality cars to its customers.
